Louisiana-based 3PL Genesis Venture Logistics (WBE) expands to meet increasing demand for transportation logistics

Covington, Louisiana – February 6, 2018 – Genesis Venture Logistics (GVL), a minority woman-owned (WBE) transportation logistics company, is expanding! The turn-key logistics services provider has opened two new office locations in the Pittsburgh area in addition to its headquarters in Covington, Louisiana and office space in Houston, Texas.

“Opening offices in the Pittsburgh area allows us to expand our footprint, and become bigger players in the steel and petrochemical markets,” owner and CEO Lorraine Hyde said. “We see an increase in demands in trucking and rail movements, and these offices allow us to continue our mission of creating customized supply chain solutions utilizing all modes of transportation for all our customers.”

The first new office is located at 800 Cranberry Woods, Suite 280, Cranberry TWP, PA 16066.

Lorraine is proud to announce that GVL was recently joined by Edward Cumberledge, former CEO of Arrow Material Services. Ed brings more than 30 years of business and finance experience to the company. His main role is to focus on growth opportunities throughout the United States. Ed has a Masters of Information Systems from Johns Hopkins and a Bachelors of Science from Penn State. He will be working out the Cranberry Township offices (North of Pittsburgh).

“I am very proud to join a great company like GVL,” Cumberledge said. “I have been impressed by Lorraine and her team for many years.  This opportunity gives me the ability to focus on M&A and growth of the company.  It also allows me to work with a very talented team that provides unique and quality customer solutions.  The Pittsburgh office is open, which allows GVL to expand its geographical footprint and I am excited to be part of the growth plans of this very impressive company.”

The trucking terminal is located at 3222 U.S. 422, New Castle, PA 16101.

This new location allows GVL to meet the expanding trucking needs of its customers. In addition to the company-owned dump and flatbed trucks, GVL is currently in the process of leasing on several owner-operators to be dispatched out of the New Castle location. Through this new trucking hub, GVL is able to dispatch assets, coordinate loading and unloading, local and OTR runs, and short-term and long-term contracts.

Short and long-term parking are also available for local drivers as well as the use of the terminal’s repair bays.

This stop is run by new trucking manager Louie Conti. Prior to joining GVL, Conti worked at AHC Logistics LLC and previously owned his own trucking company for more than 20 years.

“I’m excited to join the GVL family,” Conti said. “I see an increasingly large demand for trucking all across the region, and I’m excited to join a team that is so committed to not only meeting those demands, but one that strives for customer satisfaction.”
